Cheadle Area Committee report back, 9th August 2016

by Lib Dem Team on 10 August, 2016

Planning application 60010 – proposal to build a new house at the junction of Turnfield Road and Schools Hill, Cheadle. This is an amended application, changed in light of objections from a neighbour the last time it came to area committee. Objections to the new application from the neighbour were fully considered, and the revised application was approved as there were no legal grounds to refuse.

Planning application 61962 – extension to the house at 33 Daylesford Road, Cheadle (called up by Cllr Holloway due to concerns from neighbours). No site plan included with papers and concerns on privacy for neighbouring gardens. Councillors referred the application to the Council Planning and Highways committee for a site visit.

Planning application 62088 – extension to the house at 96 Styal Road, Gatley (coming to councillors because the house is situated in the greenbelt). Councillors recommended the application be granted.

Planning application 62122 – extension to the house at 47 Grasmere Road, Gatley. Councillors approved the extension and demolition of property. However, no application has been submitted to build a new property in the gap there: any such application would have to be considered separately. Nothing in this decision makes any future application for a new build more likely to be approved.

Councillors took an extra item to look at signage for Abney Park and how it can be approved. It was agreed to ask the Council to look not just at relocating the main signage but also signs like for Gatley Carrs – and also improving publicity etc
