The Seashell Trust in Heald Green has submitted a planning application to rebuild their school and add on additional facilities.
To fund the development, they plan to sell off fields they own to the immediate north of the site (between the A34 and Wilmslow Road in Heald Green) with planning permission for up to 325 homes.
There’s considerable concern in Heald Green about the proposals.
The planning application is here.
The Seashell Trust’s summary of their proposals is here.
The Save Heald Green Green Belt Facebook page is here.
The proposals are not coming to Area Committee in September, but may come to the next meeting.

Our local MP has already voiced her concerns about this – why didn’t mention this?
Let me know when our local MP takes the trouble to say anything positive about what I’ve done and I’ll look into it, Bruce.
And it works both ways – you constantly undermine her and have done ever since she became MP
Bruce – I’m struggling to recall of a time when I’ve even mentioned her – certainly not “constantly”, and certainly not as frequently as you make negative posts here about the Lib Dems!
I hope the committee has plans to cater for over 1000 more people, around 600 cars and the extra school places and medical facilities that will be required.
With several other development plans for housing in the area there seems little thought or plans to cope with thousands of people and their needs. It appears that the existing population will be squeezed even further.
It might sound revolutionary but build the infrastructure before the house or is that to simplistic?
