Daylesford Crescent pavement repair Tues/Weds

by Lib Dem team on 17 October, 2017

Daylesford Crescent is the latest road to benefit from the Lib Dem £100 million investment in repairing our roads and pavements.

The pavements on Daylesford Crescent will be repaired next Tuesday and Wednesday (24th & 25th October) weather permitting.

“We’re very glad to see more work being done in Cheadle and Gatley – and there’s a lot more still to do.” said Iain.

All I can say is ” if George Cox is the chosen contractors on this job I Hope They Do A Better Job Than They Did On Cheadle High Street”.
We are still awaiting rectification repairs to their shoddy work, my wife tripped on one of the numourous loose paving slabs and sustained a badly bruised toe and a damaged shoe, perhaps she should put a claim in for compensation?
Daylesford Cresent residents perhaps you should check the current state of your pavements against the High Street pavement before you rejoice about this so called improvement work.

Residential pavements are repaired with a “slurry seal” (like tarmac) surface so don’t have the same issues as paving stones. A family member of mine had a much worse accident tripping over a paving stone near Piccadilly Station – it’s clearly a problem.

I’d be glad to see repairs to Firs Road in Gatley and hope it is at the top of the priority list to benefit from the Lib Dem £100m bonanza! The road is in a poor state and needs immediate attention.

Maybe a bit of cash to put up LARGER signs stating entry is for Access Only at the South Park entrances – perhaps Andy Burnham could turn up for a photo shoot opportunity with residents along with our current and previous MP…………..

The state of the pavement on Belmont Road is an absolute disgrace, I’ve tripped up several times due to its unevenness. No injury to me as yet but could see it happening to someone less confident walking.

We’ve had lots of rain and once again pavements on Stockport road need careful NAVIGATION Pun intended – on area between Councillor Lane outside Shops all the way to the High St. Absolute disgrace when one notices the beautiful paving work done to pavements close to new access road to industrial estate just before pyramid. Doubt many families have to take their children along this area.

It is now the 26th and no work done yet on Daylesford Crescent. It was raining on 24th but has been dry since. When can we expect this work to be done. Thank you.

  7. Iain Roberts says:

Hi Carole, the dates are always “weather permitting” but we’ve not been given a revised date for the work yet. Will let you know if we hear anything, but it’s possible they’ll turn up and do it on a different day without telling us.
