Happy Hanukkah to all our Jewish residents

A Happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating.
Thanks Iain and the team. It is nice to receive a Chanukah greeting from the community when everything around us is celebrating upcoming Christmas. Chanukah is an 8 day festival of lights, when we light 1 candle on the first night, 2 on the second etc, and so on until the 8th night. This will explain the ‘Chanukiah’ or ‘Menorah’ which local residents can see, lit at the Yeshurun Synagogue in Gatley. Chanukah is a festival which celebrates triumph over adversity, and a miracle which occurred as a result. I hope I can speak for the local Jewish community in thanking everyone for the greeting.
