TfGM (Transport for Greater Manchester) has notified us of changes to the 11A. The information below isn’t entirely clear, but it’s what we’ve been given so far.

What will be the outcome of this change? Will it be a shorter journey time?
The Stocky end changes make sense – other changes beggar belief!
The ‘371’ should travel via the shortest route between Altry and Stocky – via the old main road (including Timperely shops).
Hi Arthur – we don’t yet know the thinking behind this change – just that it’s happening.
The 11 and 11a will no longer be going near Stockport College?, if that is the case our very poor bus service has now become even worse for Gatley.
Although it’s not entirely clear, I *think* this is just the 11A and the 11 continues as now.
Makes sense. 11a will now be a more direct route to Stockport via “the rocks”. The bus can take ages going through edgeley and the 11 will still be in the original route to cover that
the 11 is a great service especially from the station to gatley .
Presumably the red dotted line is the new bit of the route? If so, shame. The 11A was a fast and direct route from Alti to Cheadle.
The new 11A route seems to restore a much needed direct link between Gatley and Northenden. It also appears that it may provide a short-walk connection to the tram service at Moor Road. Finally, it stands a chance of expediting the run into Stockport. If so, congratulations to TfGM for once!
We need more buses and later buses through Cheadle and linking to railway and tram stations, particularly at night and weekends, not continual reductions.
I would just be happy if they turned up on time.
P.S. The taxi companies and petrol stations must be rubbing their hands together as people use alternatives.
I know that at present we have to get one there and back to Parrswood if we want to go to Mancheser via Metrolink,
