What to do if your bin’s not been collected since the snow

by Lib Dem team on 10 March, 2018

If your black, blue or brown bin collection was missed in the snow, it should have been collected this week.

Some bins still haven’t been collected though.

Here’s what Stockport Council is advising on these:

Snow disruption update – 9th March 2018

The Brown, Black and Blue collection crews have this week returned and emptied bins in areas that were disrupted on 28th Feb 1st and 2nd March.

All Green bin collections were cancelled this week. Normal service will start again on Monday 12th March 2018. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Unfortunately a small number of bins remain uncollected as they may have not been presented in time or were missed by the catch up crews. If your bin collection was affected by the snow and remains uncollected please note the advice below.

  • black bins – we will collect up to two additional sacks of waste placed beside your black bin on your next scheduled collection day
  • blue bins – we will collect additional paper and card. Place these items in a cardboard box or paper bag beside your blue bin on your next scheduled collection day
  • brown bins – bins reported missed this week will be collected next week on your collection day
