Cafe One joins Community Toilet Scheme

by Lib Dem team on 13 March, 2018

Cafe One, above Tesco in Cheadle village centre, has joined the community toilet scheme.

That means the Council pays it to open its toilets to everyone, whether or not they are buying something as well.

There are now three community toilet facilities in Cheadle village, one in Gatley and one at Bruntwood Park.

“We’d like to thank those businesses that have joined the scheme. It makes a big difference for people coming to our village centres to be able to have clean, safe and pleasant toilet facilities,” said Cllr Iain Roberts.

All three of the Cheadle village toilet facilities have both disabled access and baby changing facilities.

Are the community toilets going to be signposted ? As far as I can tell they are not publicised enough. There need to be signs to direct visitors and locals to indicate where they are located and each one should have a community toilet logo in the window that is easy to see, not tucked away in some remote location.
It is pointless having the facilities if no one is aware of them.

Hi Malcolm – apart from the signposts the Lib Dem team had put up a few years ago, I don’t think there have been any done anywhere in Stockport. You’re right – we should look at better signage to direct people to community toilets.
