Police report, 19th March 2018

Here’s today’s report from our local police:

Below are the burglary and theft from vehicle crimes from over the weekend (inclusive of Friday 16th – Sunday 18th).

Cheadle has had 4 residential burglaries during this period. The first occurred early hours of Friday morning where offenders forced open a ground floor window, stole property and then made off in the residents two vehicles. There was fortunately CCTV at the address and the offenders were also caught on CCTV by a neighbour also. A similar crime happened a few hours later where another two vehicles were taken from an address a few streets away from the first. The third crime in Cheadle occurred overnight on Friday 16th and was a shed break. The final crime occurred late on Saturday evening, around 11pm, which was an attempted burglary where offenders entered the back garden and tried to gain entry through the back door but fortunately they were not successful.
There was two theft from vehicle crimes, the first was an insecure vehicle outside a house, and the other occurred in the carpark of Cheadle Parish Church where a car window was smashed in order to steal a wallet from inside at around 10pm Saturday evening.

Cheadle Hulme had two burglaries, both on the same street between 18:00-22:30 on Friday evening. One involved patio doors being smashed and the other had the front door forced open. No vehicles were taken during these crimes. There were no theft from vehicle crimes in Cheadle Hulme over the weekend.

Heald Green had one attempted burglary on Saturday evening whereby offenders attempt to gain entry via the back door of a property and are disturbed by the occupants. One theft from vehicle crime occurred in Heald Green whereby vehicle registration plates were stolen off a vehicle on Sunday evening at around 8pm.

Gatley unfortunately had an aggravated burglary whereby three offenders forced their way into an address while the occupants were home and made off with property. Both occupants are ok and the investigation is being treated with upmost importance!

There were two theft from vehicle crimes in Gatley where both vehicles were left insecure.

    Lots of burgularies then, on the increase in Cheadle and latterly in areas of Cheadle not otherwise seen. What’s the response/plan from GMP for a more visible presence?
