Gatley Green blocked drains sorted

by Lib Dem team on 14 April, 2018

Iain and the Lib Dems are working to make sure all the blocked drains are reported to the council to be cleared. There are a lot of drains, so it takes some time.

This week we’ve been working on getting drains around the Gatley Green bus stop cleared. Water pooling by the bus stop and near Tesco has been a particular problem, reported by several people. We’ve been chasing it up with the council and it is now sorted.

The council officer told us: “We have cleaned all of these gullies and jetted the connections. They all seem to be running ok now so hopefully this has sorted out the problem with pooling water. There is some patching work to do to the carriageway”

South Park Road litter pick

A big than you to the two local residents who helped Iain in our litter pick on the access road to the South Park Road Estate. We filled five bin bags in half an hour and the slip road is looking a lot tidier as a result.

Yes ……..but for how long!!!!! People just use it as a litter bin.

As I have mentioned previously, one of the biggest problems with blocked gullies in the Cheadle and Gatley ward is tree roots growing into and damaging the drains, which is not something that can be solved by jet washing. So what do our Councillors propose?
