A note on GDPR

You’ve probably heard about GDPR – the new rules about who organisations can send emails to, and what data they can keep about you. Most likely you’ve had a few emails in your inbox from different organisations asking you to opt-in to continue receiving them.

The Liberal Democrats are working to be fully compliant with the new law.

The rules for political parties are a little different to those for companies (and the rules for both are different to what some people will tell you!).

For us in Cheadle and Gatley, the main issue is our Sunday morning emails. If you have opened one of our emails or clicked on a link in the last year, the law says that we can reasonably assume you want to keep on receiving them so you don’t have to opt-in.

If, however, you’ve not opened an email from us in the last year, you’ll be getting an email asking you to opt-in to receiving future emails after 25th May. Unless you opt-in, you will stop receiving emails from us.

Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time you like – there’s a link at the bottom of every email we send out.
