What’s coming up at Cheadle Area Committee, 5th June 2018

The next Cheadle Area Committee is on Tuesday 5th June 2018 at 6pm. The meeting is at Trinity Church, Massie Street, Cheadle. It’s open to all, and the webcast should be available on the council website from the following day.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

  • Funding application from 5th Cheadle Hulme Scout and Guide Community Building for £1000 towards repairing the main building floor.
  • Funding application from Cheadle & Gatley Junior Football Club for £1000 towards balls, equipment and venue hire.
  • Funding application from Edinburgh Tenants Association for £564 for 24 hanging baskets with flowers.
  • Funding application from Queens Gardens Residents Association for £565.50 for a trip to Manchester with river cruise.
  • Planning application 68598 – temporary planning permission for three years for the siting of a green steel storage container in the staff car park for storage associated with the hotel.
  • Notification of a planning appeal by the Red Lion Filling Station, Cheadle. They want to be able to open 24 hours a day, the council said no so now they are going to the planning inspector to try and overturn the decision.
  • Draft SEMMM strategy – the new transport strategy covering South East Manchester, including our area.
  • Brookfield Shiers Family Trust annual report – £325,549 the council holds in trust for local residents and has the ability to distribute over time.
  • Proposal for double yellow lines at the junction Tatton Close and Tarvin Road, and around the first bend in Tatton Close.
  • Report back on residents’ consultation over “no stopping except for buses” order on the bus stop in the lay-by on Wilmslow Road opposite the Southgate Business Park, Heald Green.
  • Application from Cheadle-get-connected to hold another community picnic in Abney Hall Park.

    Can I ask if someone has the name of he person who sanctioned the pavement repairs to go ahead on Saturday and Sunday mornings on he South Park Estate this weekend? I would like hire a large diesel truck and rev it up outside their house at 8 am next Saturday morning…………

    Thanks for the addition on your agenda of planning appeal ( yet again- less than a year ago it was turned down) for 24 hr opening at Red Lion Petrol Station on Cheadle Road. Please try and come along to the meeting if you are opposed to this – I shall be there…

      Hi Julie,

      You’re always welcome to attend, but I should warn you that the planning appeals are generally just for information. We can say a few words (and if you want to say something, that should be OK – let the Chair know at the beginning of the meeting). But our meeting doesn’t feed into the planning appeal.
