Anger as train timetable changes delayed another six months

by Lib Dem team on 13 July, 2018

The Lib Dem team are very concerned that, without any consultation, the planned December 2018 timetable changes have been delayed to May 2019.

“Just days after we received a letter from Northern Rail promising that they were working hard on getting Gatley it’s service back in December, we found out that the December changes had been scrapped altogether. It beggars belief,” said Cllr Iain Roberts.

“Gatley and Heald Green have lost services. Northern Rail have told us that they are working to restore them in the next timetable, but it now seems that won’t happen until May 2019 at the earliest. The whole thing is a complete mess and it’s rail passengers who are paying the price,” Iain added.

How are they getting away with it ?Is no-one being made accountable ? There needs to be an immediate public enquiry into how and why this shambles has arisen and is being allowed to continue.

Public Enquiry (LOL) months of fudging the issues, hundreds of thousands of expense with little or no conclusion.

Public enquiry? No need, Northern is a busted flush. Public enquiries cost thousands. Just nationalise it and start saving money.
