Further to our recent communication regarding the surfacing work on the M56 between junctions 1 and 3a, due to the predicted weather forecast this weekend a decision has been made to cancel the full weekend closure.
There will be some activity taking place this weekend overnight on the westbound carriageway as per below:
· From 9pm on Friday 25 January to 8am on Saturday 26 January
· From 6pm on Sunday 27 January to 4am on Monday 28 January
Full closures will be in place on the M56 between junctions 1 and 3a westbound to accommodate the works. Associated slip road closures will also be required and localised signed diversion routes will be in place. Customers travelling to Manchester Airport are advised to allow extra time for travel.
Due to the weekend closure being cancelled, this has impacted the overall programme and we now anticipate all work to finish by the end of February 2019.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you would like to receive the latest information, please follow our twitter feed on @highwaysNWEST.
