A new law means it is now illegal to fly a drone in large parts of Cheadle and Gatley that fall within 5km of the airport – or near to the approach/takeoff paths. A five year prison sentence could be the result for those who flout the law.
The map shows that flying drones on large parts of Hollyhedge Park, Scholes fields, Gatley golf court and Bruntwood Park would now be breaking the law. Gatley Carrs and Abney Hall Park fall outside the zone.
