On Friday, Keith and Graham laid a wreath at Gatley War Memorial on behalf of Stockport Council. Iain attended the Cheadle service last weekend.
“It is a privilege to lay a wreath and remember those who gave their lives in wars,” said Keith. “The way we remember might be different this year, but we shall not forget.”

Whenever I think of the Gatley War Memorial, I always remember Leonard and David Pritchard. Uncle and nephew. Both killed in action serving with the RAF. They are remembered on opposite sides of the memorial – Leonard on the World War 1 panel and David on the World War 2 side. Neither have a known burial place.
A pity they couldn’t lay it today on Remembrance Sunday. It was a good turnout considering the council banned it. And one gentleman said the appropriate words.
Many thanks to him and shame on government and council.
