Thank you to everyone who voted in yesterday’s local elections.
In Cheadle West and Gatley, Tom Morrison (Lib Dem) was re-elected with 57% of the vote, as the Conservative share fell to just 14%.
In Cheadle Hulme East and Cheadle North, Lib Dem Mike Newman gained a seat from Labour, meaning the ward now has two Lib Dem councillors (Mike and Jilly Julian) and one Labour councillor.
Across Stockport Borough, the Lib Dems made two gains from Labour and the Conservatives again failed to win a single seat. That leaves Stockport in No Overall Control, with the Lib Dems one seat short of an overall majority.
