We have been notified of some major bus changes affecting Cheadle, Gatley and Cheadle Hulme which we are very concerned about. Local councillors and residents have not been consulted on any of these changes.
The changes will be considered at a Greater Manchester Transport Committee meeting on 10th July.
We’re sorry that there’s so much information here, but there are a lot of services! Please let us know how these changes will affect you and your family.

I use the number 11 occasionally and I suppose an increase of 5 minutes in the frequency is not too bad.
Don’t forget we are advised to avoid public transport so these changes are probably a corollary of that diktat.
Agree with Bruce, but as he says with are constantly being told not to use Public Transport. Instead of lowering car use it is increasing Barmy
Don’t be stupid, they don’t run every 10 minutes now! I can wait 20 minutes at the bus stop for an 11. This is a classic case of an unregulated system doing what they want. Thatcher will never be truly burned at the stake as she should have been until these services are properly regulated and the bus company’s s are told what to do. Instead of them telling us!
Wise up people!
May we please have a service down Styal Rd between Heald Green and Gatley reinstated. The stops have recently been re-marked out on the the road. When normality returns, this could obviate, using a car for relatively short shopping journeys.
1.The reduction of the no 11 bus service will impact on the use of that service. the service will be used less because it is infrequent, then the bus companies will further reduce the service because it is under used.
2. Fewer buses = potentially more uses per service, against Covid advice.
3. In Gatley and Cheadle the 11 and 11A are only minutes apart, please could commonsense be used to space out this route.
Feel guilty about commenting as I have been following government advice and not using public transport at the moment, but as a non driver, buses are really important under normal circumstances.
If I’ve read it right the 42c should be a more viable route than the 312 as it will now provide public transport to the Cheadle Royal Business Park from Manchester.
Are there any changes to times of the last bus, I think the 42b may have finished earlier than the 312?
I agree with Carol C about the closeness of the 11 and 11a
They seem to play leapfrog with each other along the route!
