Gatley Primary is consulting residents on plans to expand the school to three-form entry.
At the moment the school is heavily over-subscribed and even children who live ten minutes walk away often can’t get a place. Expansion would allow many more local kids to get into the school instead of having to travel to schools further away.
One of the biggest issues is around traffic and parking, and the school is looking carefully at ways to improve that, and to stop an expanded school having even worse parking problems.

Myself and my husband attended the meeting on Thursday about the expansion and we are very excited and thrilled that this has been proposed. We moved to Gatley for the school and to find out that our daughter won’t get in due to the very small catchment area around the school was devastating. I 100% support the expansion of the school, not only for the benefit of my daughter but the whole of Gatley get the opportunity to send their children to this Outstanding school which clearly delivers fantastic education to the children. I look forward to hearing the decision made soon.
