What was decided at Cheadle Area Committee, 10 July 2018

Cheadle Area Committee was help on Tuesday 10th July 2018, 6pm, at Massie Street Church, Cheadle.

Here’s what happened:

  • Network Rail are cleaning up the pelican crossing by Gatley station, removing pigeon droppings etc
  • Survey of some streets and green spaces in Cheadle, checking on things like rubbish, dog mess etc. Report will come to next Area Committee
  • Discussion progressing on Massie Street car parks, with volunteers involving in weeding etc
  • Manchester Airport talked about their Draft Noise Action Plan that we reported on a couple of weeks ago
  • Request for £1,000 from Cheadle & Gatley JFC towards the cost of equipment and venue hire for the year was withdrawn.
  • Request for £1,000 from Heald Green Ratepayers Assoc. towards a defibrillator for Heald Green Village Hall was approved.
  • Request for £60 per ward from Stockport Carnival towards the cost of running the carnival was approved.
  • Planning application 69536 for 2 semis and one detached house at Airstream House, 36 Brook Street, Cheadle, SK8 2BX was sent to Planning & Highways Committee – concern about the narrowness of the road that could make it hard for cars to get on and off driveways
  • Planning application 64618 Construction of a single storey dining room extension and glazed shelter on the front of The Cheshire Line pub/restaurant, Manchester Road, Cheadle was recommended for approval.
  • Report back on planning appeals and enforcement was noted – no news on the Red Lion filling station appeal yet
  • Progressing plans to make more money available for community groups from the Brookfield Shiers Family Trust.
  • Proposal on how we fund borough-wide applications for funding from community groups were discussed.
  • Report on road safety around Oak Tree Primary was discussed and proposals agreed.
  • Proposal for double yellow lines at the junction of Cheadle Road with Manston Drive and Oak Avenue in Cheadle Hulme approve.
  • Proposal for yellow lines on Neal Avenue, Peakdale Avenue and Eastleigh Road in Heald Green approved.
  • Proposal for double yellow lines at the junction of Palmer Avenue and Ashbourne Avenue in Cheadle Hulme approved.
  • Request from Heald Green ward for an additional Mobile Speed Indication Device approved.
  • Request to permit Bark in the Park to be held on Abney Hall Park on 30th September 2018 approved.

    The report says Manchester airport talked about their Draft noise action plan but doesnt mention anything that was discussed. What was said? Whats in the plan? What developments were discussed etc?

    Iain Roberts Ill ask again and keep asking till I get a response as the planes are literally making my life unbearable.     Still waiting for a response on what was talked about with the Noise action plan from the airport.
