Great day out but I wish the enthusiasm and effort put into organising this event ,had been put into removing The cones off the A34 which would benefit road users and the environment. We should not be celebrating a Project which has Massively Overun and Caused Daily Missery for Commuters and Local Residents
Roy is absolutely correct.
How much time, effort and money have many thousands of people and businesses wasted in the delays, often unnecessary caused by the failure to meet deadlines. How many occasions have carriageway lanes been reduced/restricted and not one contractor is working.
The contractors and whoever from the council is supposed to be overseeing the project should be ashamed of themselves.
Apparently today is intended to celebrate the opening but at what time on what day is the date for the road to open for use as a regular means of transport? Also, what bus services will use the new road and where are the stops to be located? Please can someone put the relevant timetables on line?
The road is due to open to traffic next Saturday (15th). I don’t have details of the bus services along the road yet, but will pass them on when they come out.
All sounds great but it is today and it is the first I have heard of it.
We would have loved the 5km.
As Margaret Jones says, this is the first we’ve heard of it. I’d have liked to apply to drive my classic car along the new road, but of course I’m too late now.
Sorry – we pushed out the information as soon as we had it, but we’re not the Council’s comms team.
Sure this information was known to you last weekend and put it In this newsletter then.
Would have loved to see the cars.
As other have said rather disappointed
Hi Margaret, I put the information up earlier in the week when I got it. Sorry I couldn’t get it up earlier – I’m a local councillor with a full-time job, and the council does have its own comms team, so I hope you don’t see it as my personal role to distribute every bit of council news to you.
