Have your say on Stockport school holiday changes

by Iain Roberts on 30 November, 2018

Stockport Council is proposing big changes to school holidays from 2020 onwards, with a longer Christmas break (from 23 December 2020 to 10 January 2021) and a shorter Summer holiday (secondary schools breaking up on 29 July and primaries on 5 August for 2021).

Have your say on these plans, and the other school changes being proposed here.

This is barmey children need to be off in the summer when they can enjoy the good weather and long nights. Parents won’t want to take holidays in the winter surely.

Absolutely ludicrous ! All it means is kids will sit at home in the cold watching TV/computers over longer Xmas hols. Also more family arguments /violence over Xmas period- that’s a known fact… thought government wants children to be more active – got better chance of that in summer than December! And why difference in primary/secondary dates?
