    Morning Iain
Thank you for the update but perhaps you could use your contacts to find out why these contractors were banging and clanging on Gatley Road just after 6am this morning.
Could you also explain why perfectly good lamp standards are being replaced, I hope it won’t turn out to be a repeat of the pavements saga

    Hi Iain,
They started this work earlier this week and were installing new lamp posts at 05.30 this morning. Its good the work is being carried out whilst there is no disruption so no complaints on that but the information provided to you is not accurate.
You notified in a previous email that lamp post work was due to take place last week up by the Red Lion. This is the same thing in terms of lack of accuracy.
I appreciate that are passing on inflammation but perhaps the people in the council need to provide accurate information.

Thanks Peter, Roy – I’ll investigate.

On the replacement of columns, as far as I know they are being replaced where they are coming to the end of their lives. That may not be some defect visible from the outside though. Where a column is sound and not in need of replacement in the near future, just the head is being replaced.

      Iain,
Apologies for the typo. It was supposed to be information rather than inflammation!
I have just walked down Gatley Road to do my Sunday litter pick. I think it was Totally Locally put in the new posts but what a mess they have left around all of the posts.
Electricity North West dug up a bit of Cheadle Green a couple of weeks ago and left the site neat, tidy, with a bit of topsoil and even put grass seed down. If residents made such a mess we would get a warning letter.
Residents look after the grass along the road so it is somewhat annoying and should be unnecessary to have to tidy up after Totally Locally before we can cut the grass.
