by Lib Dem team on 10 June, 2021

From the Bee a Pollinator project:

I am writing to you to invite you for be a part of a Groundwork GM project ‘Bee a Pollinator’. Our project focuses on invasive species management along the Mersey River. We are working with the Mersey Rivers Trust to deliver this programme across multiple sites and would like to invite you to help improve the biodiversity of your local area!

We have an education pack with information about invasive species and how to manage them for all ages or abilities. This includes some fun games which are great for families or children. If you’d like more information about the education pack let me know. The aim of the project to involve the local community in improving the biodiversity along the Mersey, this will include balsam bashing days and then planting of native species. We value the community input and would love for you/ your group to help us transform the area for our native species!

We are having bashing sessions on the 19th of June and the 17th of July as this is when the balsam is not in seed. We will meet at 11am at Shiers Drive carpark.  We would love for members of the Church and community to be involved in these sessions as volunteers. At Groundwork we value your input and believe in the power of communities therefore your time and input is invaluable to us. Please also invite any members of the community you know who may be interested in this- there is a poster attached.

Please do not hesitate to contact me in you have any questions and please sign up to this event via this https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bee-a-pollinator-community-action-day-tickets-156900582867.
