The next Cheadle Area Committee will be at 6pm on Tuesday 22 June 2021. Because the government has refused to extend the law allowing virtual council meetings, we have to meet in person. To allow social distancing, the meeting will be held in the council chamber at the Town Hall. Members of the public are strongly advised to watch the webcast rather than attending in person, unless you are speaking in the meeting.

Here’s what’s being considered:

• Application by Drawing Board Productions CIC for £700 towards the new Cheadle Post community newspaper
• Planning application DC/077459 to develop Belmont Care Home on Schools Hill into apartments and town houses. The application will be decided by the Planning & Highways committee – we are being asked to comment.
• Proposal to install 5 wooden posts along the verge on Oakmere Road, Cheadle Hulme to stop HGVs running over the verge.
• Consideration of objections to the proposals for Ashfield Road/Ashfield Crescent – all around the loss of parking spaces.
