We’ve reported before on the proposals to improve Gatley Recreation Ground that started with ideas to turn the old hut into a cafe.
Now things have moved forward and a website has been launched with more information. Please take a look and let us know what you think.
The Lib Dem councillors are supportive of the plans. We have some concerns around issues that will need to be sorted out, but the community-based project to improve the Rec ground has our support. It is not a council proposal – it’s being led by Bahman, the owner of Piccolo restaurant in the village.

A nice cafe in the park would be marvellous. The weekend market idea would be a good way of getting people into Gatley that could only benefit local businesses.
It sounds like an excellent plan. Fingers crossed that it proves to be a success. The village certainly needs a real injection of life!
